Horses freely roamed the grasslands of North America for millions of years, and were crucial partners with man in settling the west. Sunset Holidays provides an opportunity for you to witness the wild horses of Alberta in their natural habitat. Enjoy a minimum of a 4 to 5 day outing riding and photographing the wild horses roaming freely near the Panther River Retreat.

Daily excursions to various areas provide many photographic opportunities. Wild horse photography is available in summer or winter months. Meals and accommodations are included.

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

Ride or hike for a minimum of 3 to 7 days to various areas near the Panther River Retreat and photograph the many species of wildlife. Bighorn sheep, moose, deer and elk are abundant. Meals and accommodations are included. Wildlife Photography trips are available at Sunset's Dormer Mountain Tent Camp and the Sunset Panther River Retreat.

There are hundreds of different species of birds and mammals to see in the Alberta Rockies. Be sure to bring along your camera and binoculars. Beautiful mountain birds include the whiskey jacks, goldfinches, Clarke's Nutcracker, ravens, Eastern Slopes Rosy Finch, Black-capped and Boreal chickadees, osprey, Gold and Bald Eagles, and more.

There are also various species of unique mountain flowers and of course, the spectacular scenery offered by Alberta's Rocky Mountains ... a photographer's dream!
